A Quick Weekend Treat

These are very easy and super delicious!

You need:
-Butter Snap pretzels
-Hershey Kisses (or Rolos)
-M&M's

Set the oven to 200 degrees.

Place the pretzels on a tray. Put the Hershey Kisses on top.

Put the tray in the oven and wait about 5 minutes. If you can stick an M&M in the kiss and it is melted through its ready to take out of the oven. You don't want to cook the chocolate or let it melt all over the tray, just softened.

Stick all of the M&Ms on top of each kiss. I used Easter M&Ms for a cute holiday touch :)

You can do this for any holiday! I think they are a simple pick-me-up for any occasion!

Enjoy!

If you don't want to use an oven, use Nutella instead of Hershey Kisses :) its just as good and a big hit with Nutella fans!

Make Your Own Fondant

For a long time I would always buy my fondant from Wilton and I haven't ever had any problems. I've always wondered how long it had been sitting on the shelf in the store and what kind of ingredients they have to put in there to make it last so long! So I decided to look up how to make my own fondant and was really skeptical if it would taste good or if it was super hard to make. I also wondered if it would cooperate like store bought fondant. I looked it up and it was easy enough! It's called marshmallow fondant and I love it :)

Only 3 ingredients!
4 Cups Powdered Sugar
4 Cups Mini Marshmallows
2 Tbs. Water

Add the water to a microwavable safe bowl full of marshmallows. Put it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds. Stir the marshmallows and check for any lumps and stick in the microwave for 15 more seconds. Add the melted marshmallows into the powdered sugar and keep stirring until you can't anymore! You can now flavor your fondant or color it right now. Take it out of the bowl and put powdered sugar all over your work surface and start kneading it until it is no longer sticky. Then it is finished! Make sure you wrap it properly so it keeps the moisture in!

I would also use it right after you make it since it is so fresh. I used this fondant for my spring cake and it was tough to get it colored and I had to put it in the microwave to warm it up. I don't think I would have had trouble if I used it the same day I made it. So this is a good alternative if you ran out of fondant and needed to make more!

Tutorial Tuesday: A Spring Inspired Cake and Cupcakes

Spring is my all-time favorite season! I love the warmer weather, the blooming flowers and the start of a new semester at school. This cake was inspired by ribbon I found at a craft store. You can apply this technique with any ribbon you find! It adds a unique element that makes your cakes/cupcakes stand out. To attach the ribbon I would suggest using double stick tape so the ribbon stays on.
